God never needed anyone, He doesn’t need a family but He does desire one. God is love and He wants to love and be loved in return. That is why we were created, we were made to be loved and to love in return. We were made to be part of God’s family.

KEY VERSE

God created every person on this planet but not everyone has the privilege of being a child of God. Those who children of God been set apart from the rest of the world because they have been born again (1 Peter 1:3, Romans 8:15-16).

It is only through Jesus that we can be born again and become children of God (Galatians 3:26).

BENEFITS OF BEING IN GOD’S FAMILY

Being part of God’s family is the best choice we can make. Who doesn’t want to be in family that is full of love? When we join God’s family we become His heirs (Galatians 4:7) and as heirs we receive God’s inheritance.

We don’t need to wait until we get to Heaven before receiving our inheritance. God is faithful to give now but even more awaits us in eternity.

In this life God is merciful, He continues to forgive us when we sin (Ephesians 1:7, 2:4). He provides us for our every need (Philippians 4:19) and strengthens us in our weakness (Ephesians 3:16). His patience and kindness towards us does not end (Romans 2:4) and He grants us wisdom and knowledge to guide our way (Romans 11:33).

Our inheritance in Heaven is greater still for we will be with God forever (1 Thessalonians 4:17). We will be given new bodies and be transformed completely to be pure and sinless like Christ (1 John 3:2). There will be no more pain, death or suffering, we will be free from such things (Revelation 21:4). For our faithfulness on earth we will be rewarded and assigned positions of service (1 Corinthians 3:8, Matthew 25:23). We will also share in Christ’s glory (Romans 8:17, 2 Timothy 2:12).

The eternal inheritance that God has for us will never change, it is waiting for us and absolutely priceless (1 Peter 1:4). Nothing on earth can compare to the wonders of Heaven. Our inheritance is what we work for in life and look forward to (Colossians 3:23-24).

Now we know what waits for us as part of God’s family. All who believe in Him and received salvation through Jesus are also connected through him as brothers and sisters. A family that extends across the world.
